Teaching Philosophy

Aims

To offer a structured and comprehensive method of studying the guitar in a friendly and student focused learning environment which nurtures and encourages students to develop their musical skills, creativity and potential on a constant path of excellence.

Objectives

To offer opportunities and consistent assessment of student standards towards optional examination validation. Examinations offer the best independent verification of progress and in a world striving towards universal standardisation and recognition of qualifications the RGT syllabus has achieved QCA accreditation placing examinations within the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). However, students need NOT take examinations if they don't want to. Great emphasis is placed upon enjoyment and fulfilment and repertoire is chosen with that in mind.

Courses

Tuition is mostly individual however group tuition is undertaken in addition to Foundation and Intermediate (1 and 2) Courses as well as Ensembles for competitions, concerts and recitals.
